Taro Root Fries(Chemmagadda in Telugu and Cheppankillangu in Tamil)

Curry Leaves


Boil Taro Roots until they are semi hard. Don't over boil taro roots as it may be mashed... Slice them if its bigger usually one available in US groceries are bigger...

Peel of Taro Roots and keep them aside.
Now add salt,chillipowder,turmeric to the taro's and mix them well and leave it aside for 10 mins.
In a pan add Oil,mustard,curry leaves and then Urud seeds and add the taro's and fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy.

taro roots are extremely nutritious as they provide a good source of fiber, contain a high amount of protein, calcium, and phosphorus, and supply approximately 95 calories per adult serving. They have less starch than Potatoes and is easily digestable.


Try them as an alternative for Fried Potatoes!!!!
