Eggs will not crack Pierce eggs with a sharp pin before boiling. This way you will prevent them from cracking.

Nutritional Way Of Cooking
While cooking vegetables, cover the pan with a lid and pour a little water on the lid. As the dish simmers, drops of water condense within the lid and fall on to the vegetables. You lose fewer nutrients cooking this way.
Crisp Pakodas
To make crispy pakodas, add a tablespoon of hot cooking oil to the gram flour batter and stir well before frying.
Soup Ideas
After rice is boiled, strain off the water and use it in soups and gravies. The residue is extremely nourishing.
Burnt Rice Fix
If you burn a pot of rice, place a slice of white or "light" bread on the top of the rice.  Let it sit for a few minutes (5-10).  The burnt taste will be gone but be sure not to scrape the bottom of the pan!
Cabbage smell When cooking brassicas (cabbage etc.) add a bayleaf this will reduce the smell during cooking and also give a subtle flavour.

Never cook mushrooms in aluminum pans because the mushrooms will darken!
Mustard Oil Cooking
Smoke Mustard oil first before using for preparing vegetables etc. Heating to a point till light white smoke emerges from it. This would remove the potency from the oil.

when your are making fries,papads etc add little salt to the oil and fry so that fries will not absorb lot of oil
Garlic Peeling
Microwave garlic cloves for 15 seconds and the skins slip right off.
Roast Cooking Tip
A roast with the bone in will cook faster than a boneless roast - the bone carries the heat to the inside of the roast quicker.
Meat Slicing
To slice meat into thin strips, as for Chinese dishes - partially freeze and it will slice easily.
