Red lentils 1/2 cup
Barley 1/3 cup
Salt - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Chillie pepper - 1/2 tsp
Ground cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Tamatoes - 2
Onion - 1/2
Butter - 1 tsp
Pre cooking:
Red lentils - wash and soak them in hot water (1cup) for half an hour
Thinly slice onions and tamatoes.
Cooking Procedure
Take a pressure cooker.
Add a table spoon of olive oil and table spoon of butter and heat.
Add all the chopped vegitables.
Add all the spices.
Saute it for a couple of minutes , so that the raw texture of the spices is cooked.
Add lentils and barley (drained) and add 2 cups of water and add leamon juice and cover the cooker with lid and turn the heat on high and let the pressure build.
Shimmer it for 15 minutes.
Add salt to taste.
Take some soup out and keep aside.
Blend the remaining soup and add the content set aside.
Serve hot.
