With CoVID-19 being a global pandemic, there is a lot of false information around. Please pay no heed to information that is not authentic. Below are the myth busters listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) concerning the prevention, and spread of the CoVID-19 pandemic.

•The coronavirus CAN be transmitted in areas with hot and humid climates.

•The coronavirus CANNOT be transmitted through mosquito bites.

•Garlic is healthy, but there is NO evidence from the current outbreak eating garlic has protected people from coronavirus.

•There is NO evidence that companion animals or pets such as dogs or cats can transmit the coronavirus.

•Taking a hot bath does NOT prevent coronavirus.

•Hand dryers are NOT effective in killing the coronavirus.

•Ultraviolet light SHOULD NOT be used for sterilization and can cause skin irritation.

•Thermal scanners CAN detect if people have a fever but CANNOT detect whether or not someone has coronavirus.

•Spraying alcohol or chlorine all over the body WILL NOT kill the viruses that have already entered the body.

•Vaccines against pneumonia, such as pneumococcal vaccine and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccine, DO NOT protect against the coronavirus.

•Antibiotics DO NOT work against viruses. They work only against bacteria.

•To date, there is no scientific medicine recommended to prevent or treat coronavirus.

•People of all ages CAN be affected by the coronavirus.
