Indian Chapatti

3 cups Maida (refined flour)
1 cup milk
2 tablespoon saffron -mixed milk
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 ghee or cooking oil
Salt as per taste
Few strands of saffron


Step 1: Mix salt and sugar into the flour thoroughly.

Step 2: Add melted ghee or cooking oil in the flour and rub evenly. Adding milk in small proportions at a time knead the flour into a soft smooth dough. Cover dough with wet cloth and leave for 2 hrs. Repeat kneading and leave again for 2 hrs. Now, divide the dough into 7 equal balls.

Step 3: Soak saffron strands in hot milk and mix well so that the strands get thoroughly dissolved into it.

Step 4: Place an iron pan in lower shelf of oven. Roll the balls into a round thick circle of 6 diameters each and prick evenly with the help of fork. Bake the chapattis in preheated oven at 250 degree centigrade until they turn into golden brown.

Step 5: Take out and gently apply saffron milk on sheermal. Bake for another 2 minutes.

Step 6: Brush butter or ghee all over and serve hot.
