TPAD Food drive

As part of community outreach initiative, Telangana People’s Association of Dallas (TPAD) provided freshly cooked meals to about 450 homeless people in Austin Street Center in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, April 6th, 2019.

Hunger remains a pressing issue facing millions of individuals and families in North Texas region. If onedon't have a place to live, getting enough to eat clearly may be a struggle. Homelessness is on a rise in Dallas and Collin counties. TPAD decided to partner with Austin Street shelter which provides safe shelter and meets the basic needs of the most vulnerable homeless.Since the beginning of the year, this is the second community services event TPAD hadconducted, within a span of two weeks, the first one being blood drive held on March 23rd. The team members cooked healthy meals and served a balanced meal comprised of proteins, carbohydrates and other nutrients. Team not only cooked and served food but also purchased and gathered several emergency clothing items that the shelter had outreached for.

The event was led by Chandra Reddy Police, TPAD President for 2019 and,Ravikanth Reddy Mamidi(Vice president) and LakshmiPoreddy (Joint Secretary) served as Food Drive Coordinators. TPAD Foundation team lead by Janakiram Mandadi, Rajvardhan Gondhi, Ajay Reddy, Rao Kalvala, Mahendar Kamireddy, Raghuveer Bandaru, Upender Telugu, Ashok Kondala and Ram Annadi and Board of Trustees, Pavan Kumar Gangadhara, Madhavi Sunkireddy, Sudhakar Kalasani, InduPancharpula, ,Bucchi Reddy Goli, Sharada Singireddy and Executive Committee, Madhavi Lokireddy (Gen-Secretary) , Anuradha Mekala ( Treasurer), Shankar Parimal (Joint- Treasurer), Srini Vemula, RatnaVuppala,MadhumathiVysyaraju, Rupa Kannayyagari, Deepthi Suryadevara, Sharath Yerram,RojaAdepu, Linga Reddy Alva and TPAD Advisors- VenuBhagyanagar, Vikram Jangam, Naresh Sunkireddy, Karana PoReddy, Jaya Telakalapalli, Surendar Chinthala, Arvind Muppidi, Ganga Devara, Sateesh Nagilla, Santosh Kore, Kalyani Taadimeti and collaboration team – Vamshi Krishna,SwapnaThummapala, Srinivas Tula,Vijay Reddy, Aparna Kolluri, Anusha Vanam, Sasi Reddy Karri, Manjula Todupunoori, Madhavi Omkar, Gayathri Giri, JayasreeMurukutla, Ravindra Dhulipalla, Srinivas Kootikanti, Sharath Punreddy, Sreedhar Kancharla, Srinivas Annamaneni, SravanNidiganti, Nithin Chandra, Aparna Singireddy, KameshwariDivakarla, Kavitha Brahmadevara, NithinKorvi, SugathriGuduru, Madhavi Menta, Vandana Gouru, DhanalakshmiRavula,Lavanya Yarakala, Srikanth Routhu, ThilakVannampula, have supported the execution of the event.The event not only reminded and motivated the team members and the youth volunteers of their service and commitment towards the community but also left them with a deep sense of gratitude and fulfillment for serving a noble cause on the auspicious day of Ugadi festival.Shelter volunteersand management expressed deep regards to TPAD for organizing the drive and showing exceptional service to mankind. TPAD leadership and volunteers said, it is the duty of every citizen of America to serve their land and they said the food drive gave them a personal satisfaction of performing that duty.
