Parsi Salli Murgh

Ingredients

750 grams Boneless chicken , medium pieces
4 Onions , Fine Chopped
2 tablespoons Ginger , Paste
2 tablespoons Garlic , Paste
2 tablespoons Green Chilli , Paste
1 tablespoon Red Chilli sauce (Sichuan Sauce) , Paste
1/2 cup Hung Yogurt (Greek/ Thick Curd)
2 tablespoon Coriander Powder
1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
1 teaspoon Cardamom pods , crushed
1 teaspoon Whole Black Pepper Corns , crushed
4 Cloves ,
2 Cardamom pods
1 inch Cinnamon Stick
2 Bay leaves (tej patta)
Cooking oil , for cooking
2 cups Potatoes (aloo) , made into crispy fries
Coriander leaves (Dhania) , a small bunch, finely chopped
1 teaspoon Nutmeg powder

Directions

1. To begin the preparation of Parsi Salli Murgh, wash and clean chicken nicely under running water and keep aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl add curd with ginger and garlic paste, green and red chili paste , salt and mix well to make a paste.
3. Add chicken to the mixing bowl and mix well with the curd marinade, refrigerate for minimum 30 mins before cooking.
4. Heat oil in a wok and add the whole spices.
5. Now add chopped onion and saute till they are brown.
6. Add the chicken marinade and mix well. Cook on high flames till the curd starts leaving water.
7. Now add the spice powders and season with turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala powder and mix well.
8. Cover the lid half and let the chicken cook till oil starts leaving from sides.
9. Check salt and add water to make a thick curry.
10. Give a boil to the curry and later close the lid and let the chicken cook in low flame till its tender and cooked.
11. Turn off the gas and transfer the chicken to the serving bowl.
12. Add chopped coriander and handful of potato fries.
13. Serve the Parsi Salli Murgh hot with plain steamed rice.
