All Tips
- When heat and humidity are at their highest, it's never a bad time to take a break. Water sports are especially tricky because you can easily become overheated without realizing it. When it doubt, take a breather.
- Take natural fruit juices. All natural juice without added sugar not only provides hydration but also important nutrients to keep you functioning while being active in hot weather.
- Wear one layer of lightweight, light-colored clothing when you are working or exercising outdoors. Change into dry clothing as soon as you can if your clothes get soaked with sweat. Never exercise in a rubber suit.
- If you are on a high-protein diet, make sure that you drink at least 8 to 12 glasses of water each day.
- When exercising, keep your rest between sets to a minute or less, and don't do more than 12 reps in a set
- Protein = building block for your muscles. Chicken, fish, meat, eggs, milk, almonds, peanuts. Eat lots of this stuff, all the time.
- Drink loads of water before you start playing Holi. This will keep your skin hydrated.
- Don't get waxing, threading, facials or skin treatment done at least 3-4 days before Holi.
- On Holi Use an aloe vera gel, cucumber juice or at least a rose water bottle handy with you, just in case get some irritation from a colour, these would act as soothing agents.
- Avoid using detergent soaps on body to remove colour.Use glycerin or aloe vera based soaps. Apply a body lotion on your body generously after taking bath.
- If your child is a very poor eater, giving her a vitamin supplement may be useful.
- Try to eat with your toddler - even if it's a snack. She'll be more willing to sit down and eat if she has company and comes to understand that eating can be a social activity.
- Toddlers Food:Present new foods at least twice a week.
- Toddlers like colorful foods. Add some color full food into toddlers box.
- Type two diabetes Reduce the amount of fat in your diet, especially saturated and trans fats. Eat more fruit, vegetables and high-fibre foods. Cut back on salt.
- Diabetes prevention Take foods high in fiber include fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts and seeds.
- Heat 4 or 5 tablespoons of salt in a saucepan and stir till it turns a little brown. Place the heated salt in a clean cloth and wrap it properly. Press the cloth towards the affected ear for 2 to 5 minutes daily whenever it's required till the swelling and pain subside.
- Extract the juice from ginger and apply a few drops in the ear. This will relieve the pain and reduce inflammation.
- Place a bowl of boiling water and add several drops of eucalyptus oil and a teaspoon of Vicks. Use a towel to cover your head and inhale the steam through the nose several times till the pain subsides. This will ease the pressure and help to drain the fluids from the ear.
- Soak a clean towel in warm water and compress near the infected ear for about 20 minutes. This reduces the pain and discomfort quickly.
- EarAche:Drip 2 or 3 drops of warm mustard oil into the infected ear and allow it to remain there.
- EarAche:Boil 3-4 cloves of Garlic in some water. Mash them and add a pinch of salt. Wrap this poultice in a flannel or woolen cloth and place on the aching ear.
- Ewarache: Grind a few basil leaves and extract some juice. Apply 2 drops inside the ear.
- Homemade Swimmers ear drops...recipe provided to me by my childrens' pediatrician. Alcohol dries out the ear and vinegar kills bacteria. It works!
- Anti Aging:Take 2 teaspoons of pure rose water. In this add half a teaspoon of lemon juice and a few drops of glycerine. Dip a cotton ball into this and apply it all over the face.Do not wash your face after applying this pack as your face will absorb it completely.
- Anti Aging:Take a teaspoon of honey and to this add 2 teaspoons of yogurt. Add 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice.Take a capsule of vitamin E. In this tutorial I have used 'Evion 400'capsule. Cut from its tip and gently pour the liquid into the pack. Add a pinch of turmeric into it.Mix well and apply this pack all over the face. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
- Boil one small carrot and potato and chop into small pieces. Mash them to form a smooth paste. To this add a pinch of turmeric and baking soda.Mix well to obtain a smooth paste.Apply all over the face and keep for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
- Egg Pack for anti aging. Take 1 teaspoon of egg white in a bowl.To this add half a teaspoon of malai, Then finally add a teaspoon of lemon juice Mix well and apply this all over your face.
- Staring at a clock in your bedroom, either when you are trying to fall asleep or when you wake in the middle of the night, can actually increase stress, making it harder to fall asleep. Turn your clock's face away from you.
- Go to Sleep When You're Truly Tired it helps you to reduce the nightmares.
