Jewellery
- Always apply lotions, cosmetics, perfume and hairspray before you put on your jewellery.
- Avoid your jewellery being in contact with sea salt, chemicals, alcohol, fruit acid, vinegar and chlorine, e.g. swimming pools or hot tubs
- Hanging necklaces prevents kinking. In a drawer, necklaces have a tendency to get tangled and lose luster. A jewelry box or a hook in a secure location may be recommended for storing fine jewelry.
- Silver jewelry often develops a tarnished appearance and may require frequent cleaning. Jewelry can be stored in a tarnish-resistant cloth to protect the appearance and shine.
- Pearls are fragile and soft. Nicks and scratches are common if the jewelry is not stored properly. The storage units must be extra soft on the interior to prevent damage to pearls.
- Seal the jewelry in a plastic bag after squeezing all the air out of it. This will keep it dry and safe from blemishes. Without oxygen in the bag, the alloy metals of the gold-plated jewelry would remain untarnished.
- Perfumes and deo spray or body and hair spray are real enemies for immitation jewellery. How well your jewellery may look with the plating, it doesnt matter. A single spray of these perfumes are good enough to instantly spoil the look and colour of the jewellery or shorten the colour life. Please avoid using these chemicals or cleaning agents when you use immitation or gold plated jewellery.
