Bananas & breakfast

The importance and benefits of bananas have been stressed upon so much that most people have started including the fruit in their diet. However, food experts say that it may not make for the healthiest breakfast meal. If banana is such a nutritional food, then how can it not be good for breakfast? Let us find out.

Banana is a great sources of vitamin B6, and even though it is not not associated with vitamin C, a medium sized banana provides 10% of your recommended daily vitamin C intake. It is one of the best sources of potassium, and due to its fiber content, it can aid digestion and prevent gastrointestinal issues. Most importantly, bananas contain three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose, and glucose, which provide a fat and cholesterol free source of energy.

Stop eating banana in the breakfast

While banana has a good reputation in the realm of health and nutrition, it is made up of 25% sugar. Although the sugars are natural, when paired with the moderately acidic nature of bananas will give a quick sugar boost, resulting in a crash around mid-morning. This will make you feel more tired and more hungry, and the banana will have done more harm than good. A sugar boost can also cause cravings, making you more susceptible to overeating.

Instead you can eat banana with combinations like Oatmeal banana Chocolate Chip Pancake, coffee banana oats smoothie , banana with French toast and oats halwa.....more....
