Happiness Becoming Scarce?

In this modern age every individual is becoming more and more competitive and ambitious. As a result the happy moments are short lived because as soon as a milestone is achieved the focus shifts to the next milestone. The schedules are becoming more and more compressed because everyone wants to grow faster and are willing to sacrifice on their personal life to achieve a little extra at work. Although people these days are having better lifestyles than their previous generations but lack severely when it comes to happiness. By the time people realize that Money can’t buy happiness it is often too late.

Here are some tips which might be helpful in making you a little happier.

1) Do things for yourself in everything you do; don’t live for other people: Only you can determine whether or not you are on the right track. Don’t let others to dictate your life for you. Instead, take responsibility for your life. Ask yourself: is your ego so large that you need to be recognized as a credible, professional, and successful person? Once you let go of this, you’ll be doing things for the right reasons.

2) Don’t compare yourself with others: It’s an inaccurate measuring stick. It is more accurate to compare from within. Compare yourself with yourself. Comparing with others will make your life harder and full of challenges.

3) Learn to handle criticism: Don’t take it personally. Everything can always be improved; criticism is the vehicle to allow you to improve. Only apply remedial measures if the criticism has value. If you can handle criticism it will help you in proving yourself to be best.

4) Value the people in your life: Everyone wants to feel like they’re important. Give it to them, and they will love you. Stop wasting time and energy thinking about how people should be different.

5) There’s no such thing as destiny: Destiny is used as a cop-out and standard excuse by most people for why they don’t do something with their lives. Your limitations are not set by who you know, where you were born, what genes you have, how much money you have, how old you are right now, what you did before or other things that you can claim are your stamp of failure for life.

6) Forgive as much as possible: Be humble (especially to the "little" people). Forgiving people is best part of life there is no burden on your heart for the people who criticize you.

7) Be happy for other people who are happy: Train your mind to be sincerely happy for happiness and catch your resentments and jealousies before they run off too far. It’s easy to resent people for being happy.

8) Never get into a victim mentality. If you focus on what’s right and wrong, you’ll stagnate. Instead, accept things the way they are. Once you do this you can to start to change things and have the power to redirect the future the way you want to
