
1 Kg Mutton/lamb chopped into small pieces
2 nos Onion large
1 tsp Ginger
1 1/2 tsp garlic
1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
1 tbsp Pepper powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Garam masala
1 stick Cinnamon stick Karugapatta
2 tsp Coriander powder
2 nos Cardamom Elakka
Lemon juice As reqd
Curry leaves Few
2 nos Green chillies
1/4 cup Coconut pieces
Salt As reqd
2 tbsp Oil
For preparing the delicious dish, first cut mutton into small pieces. Wash well, drain and place it in the pressure cooker.
Add salt, turmeric, little pepper powder, cinnamon stick, 2 cardamoms and mix well.
Pressure cook mutton for 10 minutes until tender. Keep aside in a kadai/wok.
Heat oil in a pan and add jeera, half of onions, coconut pieces, ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander powder, remaining pepper powder, turmeric and garam masala. First pour the extra water from the mutton and fry this mixture until oil comes out.
Add lemon juice and mutton and fry well till the colour of the whole mixture changes to golden brown.
Again in a small kadai, add little oil and saute remaining onion, curry leaves and pour this into mutton mixture and mix well. Enjoy the dish....
