Pepper Mutton

Mutton cubes 20 nos
Onion(medium) 2 nos
Tomato(medium) 2 nos
Garlic pods 5 nos
Curry leaves 5 stem
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder 3 tbsp
Chilly powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 2 pinch
Oil 100 mgs
Salt to taste


Wash mutton and add turmeric to it.Chop onion and tomato roughly.Add the mutton and the cut onion, tomato and garlic into a pressure cooker and fill with water, till the mutton is three-fourths covered.Cook upto 2 whistles on a medium flame.Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.Add cumin seeds and curry leaves.Add the contents of the cooker along with pepper powder and cumin powder.Freshly ground is better.Add salt.If the mutton is not completely cooked, cover the pan with a lid and keep on a medium low flame, until its cooked. Or else put on medium high flame and allow the water to evaporate.
