tasty sambar in ten minutes

Main Ingredient: cooked toor dhal and moong dhal(1cup each)
Servings: 3 or 4 people
Time to Prepare: 10 minutes


for seasoning:(1 teaspoon)
cumin seeds,curry leaves,fenugreek seeds,sambar powder,turmeric powder,cut onions(1 full),cut tomatoes(1 big),chopped cilantro(handful).
for masala:
grind coriander seeds(3 teaspoons),4 or 5 pieces of coconut and 1 or 2 red chille along with small amount of tamarind.


in the kadai season one tablespoon of oil and add fenugreek seeds,curry leaves,cumin seeds until it splatters.then add onions and cut tomatoes and cook for a while.grind the toor dhal and moong dhal mixture adding water and pour into the seasoned miture.now add the masala into the kadai and stir well.when the sambar starts to boil add the chopped cilantro.let the sambar boil for 5 minutes until u can smell the flavor.serve hot for idlis,dosas and rice.it's easy to make and delicious to eat

it is low in fat and has significant source of proteins.the good part is usage of tamarind is minimal.


it is good for kids to elderly and tastes great.try it and you will like it.it is easy to make.
