What is it that one yearns for .....???
What is it that one really desires and wishes it would be there for good.........???
Nope! I am not talking about the material world or the materialistic pleasures here. It has got little to do with any earthly pleasures, it does relate to it reciprocally though. It is in fact a very commonly used syllable but hardly ever understood.., yes it is 'Love'. 'Love' indeed it is.
Not exactly in the sense the romantic fables and the lovely folk lores go on to blab about. I don't deny that there had been some amount of hidden truth in these historic skits, but hardly in the way I am pertaining to. It is simply difficult for one-self to imagine love to have reached a fruitful resort after the nuptial vows were taken. The irony in fact of all these historic fables have been that they never did culminate to marriage. Be it Romeo-Juliet, Laila-Majnu, Heer-Ranjha....... Or one could take an alternate look at it in an other way and probably suggest they were lucky enough not to taste the honest stew of Life.... after marriage.
Mind you, I don't intend to scare away all the single souls here, it is just the way I see it. Why do you think that even after years of living together in a marriage some couples are practically unaware of each other's feelings. Feelings huh!!! nice word - but does it have any kind of moral essence in our lives ? Forget it. Lets talk about some closer to earth things, the likes and dislikes: does a wife ponder on what exactly her hubby would like for his next birthday ? Nah!! not another expensive deodorant, he could have been happy if she sewed up the broken buttons on his shirts. Looking from the other side, does a husband ever stop to ponder his wife's favorite color or the best activity they could both engage in on a bright heavenly Sunday. Nope!! not shopping, not movies either, perhaps it would be more fun to just sit down with hands entwined recollecting all the old memories together, in the process discovering a little more of each other.
True, discovering each other's thoughts and views is exactly the right approach for fighting out the vacuum out of our lives, a void which has been literally breathing into our lives the poison of misunderstandings and disbeliefs. For which we as a couple need to make the base sturdy enough with the magic wand of love, more so understanding the word all by itself. Lets all try to be better in our own selves for the sake of our partner, giving in a little more time to her/him from our daily schedule, maybe even joke about the each other for a change. Perhaps little by little, with one step at a time we could bring in back the lost charm in our lives, the lost smile or maybe even the zest of togetherness.........
