Oats lollipop

1 tsp ghee
1/2 cup grated jaggery (gur)
1/4 cup roasted quick cooking rolled oats
1/4 cup lightly roasted and finely chopped mixed nuts
(pistachios, almond and walnuts)
1 tbsp roasted sesame seeds (til)


Heat ˝ tsp of ghee in a broad non–stick pan, add the jaggery and cook on a slow flame till the jaggery melts, while stirring continuously.
Remove from flame, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well. Keep aside to cool slightly.
Grease your hands with the remaining ˝ tsp of ghee and divide the mixture into 12 equal portions, shape it into a round ball and insert a small stick in the centre.
Cool completely and store in a air-tight container.


Unlike candy lollipops, you wouldn’t mind your children eating these. The oats, jaggery, nuts and sesame seeds all blend in nicely to make these lollipops crunchy and delicious. You can make them in advance and store them in air-tight containers.
